The Waste Management Phoenix Open is taking place this week ahead of the Super Bowl. The Scottsdale-Phoenix area is really having a moment with celebrities flocking to the desert for the biggest week in sports.

An influx of A-Listers led to the 2023 Waste Management Open Pro-Am to be packed full of celebrities. That pro-am was held on Wednesday and included Larry Fitzgerald Jr., Michael Phelps, Reggie Bush, JJ Watt, Jason Aldean, Emmitt Smith, Alex Rodriguez, and others.

The Waste Management Open’s Annexus Pro-Am gives celebrities the chance to test their mettle against one of the most intimidating holes in golf, the par-3 16th hole.

With the stadium surrounding and rowdy atmosphere at the iconic 16th hole, players are rewarded with infamy for a great shot. A-Rod was up to the task. Here he is sticking his shot next to the pin as the crowd goes wild.

My only complaint with A-Rod’s impressive shot at No. 16 is the introduction could have been a little longer, don’t you think? They could’ve stretched that out just a little bit more to make the crowd happy…

This year’s Waste Management Open Annexus Pro-Am was won by the CEO of Swire Coca-Cola, Rob Gehring, who played with two PGA Tour pros and the team shot a 16-under 55.

Michael Phelps won the ‘$1 million for charity’ competition. He was 8’5″ from the hole on No. 16 which led to a $40,000 donation to his charity of choice.

Alex Rodriguez is no stranger to celebrity Pro-Am’s. He’s previously played on Tiger Woods’ team at Riviera Country Club.

The greatest shot in the history of the Waste Management Phoenix Open? This one from Tiger Woods:
