Nobody really knows what is going on with Angel Reese, outside of those involved with the program and her support system. There is a lot of speculation as to why she was away from the LSU women’s basketball team last week. There is nothing definitive.

Her statement of caution came one day prior to the Tigers’ home game against Texas Southern on Monday night. It is unclear as to whether Reese will be on the floor with her team, but she provided an important update on her status over the weekend.
Head coach Kim Mulkey decided to bench the Final Four MVP from a year ago during last Tuesday’s game against Kent State. Reese jacked up a three during the first half, played just 13 total minutes and did not see the floor during the second half.
Mulkey called it a “coach’s decision” at the time.
Reese did not travel with the team on Friday. Mulkey got sassy about the mysterious absence when asked about the ongoing situation and later went on an unhinged rant about her ongoing illness.
The 61-year-old did not help to clear things up. Her comments only threw fuel on the conjecture fire.
One report stated that she is not with the team due to an “attitude adjustment.” Meanwhile, Reese’s mother (accidentally?) caused serious drama amongst some of the mothers of players on the team.
Flau’jae Johnson’s momager, Kia Brooks, claimed that Angel has a truly horrific GPA.
Perhaps the time away from the Tigers stems from academic issues. We don’t know.
Reese posted a cryptic message on TikTok for her sixth-month anniversary with her boyfriend on early Saturday morning and said that she “carries the weight of the world on her shoulders.” Maybe she is taking a mental health break. Hopefully she is okay.
Whatever is going on, Reese asked her haters and fans not to believe everything that they read.
LSU plays at home on Monday night. It will be curious to see if Reese is back on the floor, or even on the sideline.
