This Insane Photo Of Anthony Davis’ Never-Ending Wingspan Is Baffling NBA Twitter

Anthony Davis is the real life Stretch Armstrong. The gifted Pelican center’s wingspan has made jaws drop since his like 6 days at Kentucky and has helped him register career highs in rebounds (12.8), blocks (2.7), steals (1.6) in a campaign that’s worthy of MVP talk.

The 25-year-old’s wingspan is a mind-bending 7-feet-6-inches. For perspective, that is the height of Yao Ming, who has a wingspan of 7-feet-5-inches. Talk about a Napoleon Complex, AMIRIGHT.

If you’re a visual guy, here is Ming standing next to the 5’6” Gary Player. A reminder: these two creatures are the same species.

A recent photo taken before the Pelicans 125-104 win over the Washington Wizards on Wednesday has gone viral for its freakish depiction of Davis’ never-ending wingspan.

The photo stirred up the creative juices of NBA Twitter and produced some Mona Lisa-esque work.

Quick summary on my life: I got my shit spiked by a 5’8” dough boy in my men’s league basketball game last night. Haven’t stopped thinking about it since.

Matt’s love of writing was born during a sixth grade assembly when it was announced that his essay titled “Why Drugs Are Bad” had taken first prize in D.A.R.E.’s grade-wide contest. The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
