It may have taken a little longer than most of us expected, but the Arch Manning Era appears to finally be upon us in college football.
The Texas star quarterback, who is the nephew of both Peyton and Eli Manning, entered the season as the Heisman Trophy favorite for the No. 2-ranked Longhorns.
But he struggled mightily in a Week 1 loss to Ohio State, and in the weeks after that, leading many to believe that Manning was nothing more than a prestige name who would never live up to the hype.
However, not everyone jumped off the Manning bandwagon. His coach, Steve Sarkisian, routinely backed him. As did former Texas running back Bijan Robinson.
“I mean, he just has he just has to learn, man,” the Atlanta Falcons said of Manning“Take it one week at a time. Like, this is still his first season playing college football. So, you know, I know people have these crazy expectations, but you know for him, like, staying out the media, staying outside of just making sure that he’s in himself and he believes in himself and he believes in the talent that he’s been given is the most important thing.”
Arch Manning Seems To Have Figured Things Out In Texas
In last week’s comeback victory over Mississippi State, Manning completed 29-of-46 passes for 346 yards and three touchdowns, the best start of his young career.
He then went on to one-up himself this week, going 25-of-33 for 328 yards and three scores in a 34-31 win over No. 9 Vanderbilt, vaulting Texas back into playoff contention in the process.
And fans are taking notice.

A little patience can go a long way. And that seems to be the case for Arch Manning and Texas.
