Arch Manning is not rushing to commit. Despite reports that he might try to make a decision this spring, the timeline has stretched out and he will not announce until the fall, at the earliest.

As a result, he is not taking any visits in January and is focused on throwing down dunks during his basketball season. When basketball season comes to a close, he will turn his focus back to football.

In the meantime, per Sports Illustrated’s Clemson Tigers insider Jason Priester, he recently narrowed down his list of suitors. Manning visited Clemson twice throughout 2021.

However, per Priester, he informed the school and Dabo Swinney’s coaching staff that the Tigers are no longer in the running. Manning will not be playing his college football at Clemson.

That leaves a few schools in the mix— Texas, Georgia, Ole Miss, Alabama, LSU, and Ohio State. The Longhorns, Bulldogs, Rebels and Crimson Tide appear to be the frontrunners.

Meanwhile, Brian Kelly and the Tigers are trying to gain back some ground and Billy Napier and the Gators are trying to get in the conversation. Although the Buckeyes and quarterbacks coach Corey Dennis have been touch in awhile, Manning is not expected to play his college ball in Columbus.

The next step in Manning’s process comes in the spring. He will schedule visits out for his top programs and will get a feel for what they look like during spring practice.
