Arch Manning is not going to leave Texas. The chatter surrounding his future in Austin is becoming ridiculous, if it is not already at that level. Everybody needs to stop pushing nonexistent narratives.

He, his grandfather and his father have made it abundantly clear that the transfer portal is not an option.

As did uncle Eli while in Las Vegas.

The two-time Super Bowl champion made an appearance on the ‘Zach Gelb Show.’ Gelb decided to ask the question that doesn’t need to be asked, because it has already been answered over and over again.

Should Arch enter the portal now that Quinn Ewers was officially named the starting quarterback for 2024? Eli was extremely quick to say no. Gelb had barely finished his sentence.

He picked Texas because that’s where he wants to be. That’s where he wants to play football. He likes Coach Sarkisian and his offense and what they’re doing.

Although Ewers’ decision to forgo the NFL Draft was a bit of surprise to everybody, it does not change anything about Arch’s future plans. He is not going anywhere.

It’s another year for Arch to mature, learn an offense, get bigger and stronger in the weight room and always be prepared to play. You never know what’s going to be happen.

Eli had a similar experience at Ole Miss. Like Arch, he redshirted during his first year in Oxford and served as the backup during his redshirt freshman season. It was a good thing for his career.

The fact that you can transfer so easily now doesn’t mean that you should do it.

Arch wants to play. Obviously. Eli said that his nephew is itching to get on the field.

That’s fine, but patience is a virtue. The Manning family knows first-hand how beneficial it can be to stay in a program and continue to grow. They are not going to encourage Arch to leave a good situation because Ewers is going to start another year. That’s not going to happen.

Barring unforeseen circumstances out of his control, Arch Manning is not going to enter the transfer portal between now and Week 1 of the 2024 college football season. He is a Texas Longhorn and that is not going to change. Ewers is going to start in the fall. It will be Arch’s team in 2025.
