The Arizona Cardinals Are Challenging Fans To Eat A 7-Pound Burger And My Arteries Hurt Just Looking At It

When I was in college, there was a burger place near campus with a menu that challenged people to eat more in a single sitting than they should over the course of the day.

There were a variety of oversized options on the menu, but the most gluttonous involved downing five pounds worth of patties, 20 slices of bacon and cheese, another five pounds of fries, and a pickle to top things off.

“Food” won when Adam Richman took on the challenge during an episode of Man vs. Food, which I’m sure made his arteries pretty relieved.

However, the behemoth at Eagle’s Deli has nothing on a new culinary monster that the Arizona Cardinals are putting on the menu at University of Phoenix Stadium this season.

While teams like the Atlanta Falcons are focusing on lowering the price of concessions, the Cardinals are taking a slightly different route by offering a $75 burger to fans. However, as you’ll soon see, you’re probably getting your money’s worth.

To just call it a “burger” would be a bit of a misnomer, as most burgers usually aren’t topped with hot dogs and brats. It might seem like an impossible task, but the Cardinals are challenging fans to finish the burger in a single sitting— and offering them some incentive if they do.

Unlike similar challenges, you won’t be reimbursed for the cost of the meal, but there are a couple of other perks.

According to AZ Central, any individual who can eat the entire thing in under an hour will be rewarded with a Cardinals jersey and honored (or shamed, depending on you look at things) by having their picture put on the scoreboard.

Curious how many calories you’d be consuming? It turns out nobody really knows yet.

However, if you have to ask in the first place, you’re probably not the kind of customer they’re attempting to target.
