Jizzle James does not appear to be in Charotte as the fall semester of the school year gets underway. He’s added a series of photos from Houston to social media, creating an offseason drama for the 49ers basketball team.
Is James still with the team? Has his status changed following a chaotic stint at Cincinnati? There has been no word of a dismissal from the program. His Instagram activity, however, has fans concerned.

James has added four new photo albums across the last 24 hours. Most of the pictures appear to have been taken in Houston, including the latest from a popular nightclub in the Texas hub.
Photos shared to his story would also lead followers to believe he is not on campus in North Carolina.
Is Jizzle James still with Charlotte?
The senior guard transferred to the 49ers via the portal, following head coach Wes Miller, who was fired from Cincinnati last season. His tenure with the Bearcats was filled with drama.
The hooper was suddenly removed from the roster two months before tip-off in 2025. He then appeared to threaten a move to the G-League before eventually returning to the program in December.
When on the court, James is an impact player. He scored 8.8 points a night off the bench as a freshman. He’s averaged 12 points a game across the last two seasons in the Big 12.
James has the ability to be the Player of the Year in the American. The point guard is the son of former NFL running back Edgerrin James. He was a four-star recruit in the 2023 cycle. He’s been able to produce in college basketball’s toughest conference.
Of course, he will need to be on the court to secure any type of individual hardware.
His latest social media activity has created doubt surrounding his status with Charotte. One particular post has fans expecting the worst.

The photo shows James in Houston with a cryptic caption reading, “Free agent.” It’s created questions surrounding his status. Is he still with the Charlotte basketball team? Did he leave, and if so, why? Is the post completely unrelated?
I am not 100% certain, to be quite honest. It could be something. It could mean nothing.
Classes started at the university on August 17th. It would appear that James is 1,000 miles away, though it is possible the pictures were taken at a previous date in time and only now posted to Instagram.
At the time of this writing, Jizzle James remains on the Charlotte roster. He was featured in the 49ers’ schedule release earlier this month. Again, there has been no official change or announcement regarding his status with the team.
Social media activity has sparked speculation. His cryptic Instagram story has fans fearing the worst. I’ll be on the lookout for any updates throughout the rest of the week.
