Cease And Desist Forces Jizzle James To Stop Pretending To Be A Cincinnati Basketball Player

Jizzle James is no longer on the Charlotte basketball roster. He will not be on the Cincinnati basketball roster next season, either.

James previously suggested that he’d planned to return to his old team for his senior year. That will not be the case.

The guard posted an alleged conversation with the Bearcats onto social media. It appears he’s been sent a cease-and-desist message. He cannot represent the Cincinnati basketball program moving forward. He cannot pretend to be a UC basketball player.

Jizzle James does not have a college basketball team.

The guard played three seasons at Cincy after signing in 2023 as a four-star recruit. The son of former NFL running back Edgerrin James, he made instant impacts with the Bearcats.

James appeared in 37 games as a freshman. He scored 12.7 points a night was a sophomore. That was followed by a 10-point, two-assist per game stat line as a junior.

Prior to his third season, James was dismissed from the team. He threatened to transfer but ultimately returned in December. The drama has continued at his next stop.

Head coach Wes Miller was fired after the 2025-26 season. James followed him to Charlotte to become an immediate Player of the Year contender in the American Conference.

The school started its fall semester in mid-August. James did not appear to be on campus. His social media accounts were flooded with escapades in Houston.

The activity sparked speculation surrounding his status on the team. It was fueled by the insinuation that he’d been in contact with Cincinnati basketball coaches.

In the days that followed, he posted a series of photos repping his old school. He went as far as to change his social media bios to suggest he was a member of the Bearcats’ squad.

That, of course, was not the case. His dad shut down the idea of a return to Cincinnati, saying his son was “trolling.” UC head coach Jerrod Calhoun has not spoken to Jizzle James.

Despite the drama, James remained on the 49ers’ online roster when August turned to September. The program, however, did add another guard via the transfer portal as a backup plan.

Over the weekend, Charlotte confirmed that James had been removed from the team. As of September 5th, he was no longer listed on the roster. The guard’s hopes for returning to Cincinnati took a major hit in the days that followed.

Cincinnati sends cease and desist.

A rep from the Cincinnati basketball supposedly reached out to Jizzle James to inform the former Bearcat that he’s no longer allowed to “use, represent, or commercially promote the University of Cincinnati.”

“Your current affiliation with the program must cease.”

James will not be returning to Cincy. He can now no longer pretend to be, either. The university does not want to be affiliated with its former player.
