Earlier this offseason, former Texas A&M quarterback Zach Calzada transferred to finish out his college football career at Auburn. The Aggies beat Alabama in the fall (the Crimson Tide’s only regular season loss) and Calzada was a big part of that.

Maybe Auburn brought him in to try and recreate that success?

Regardless of the reason, Calzada will be playing the 2022 season in navy blue and burnt orange. Whether he will be the starter or not is to be determined.

Whether Bryan Harsin will be his head coach or not is also to be determined. A report surfaced on Thursday evening about Harsin’s job security, saying that it is in question.

Shortly thereafter, the rumors began to swirl. In addition to some chatter about a very personal matter, many of Harsin’s former players spoke out about the culture he has built at Auburn.

On Thursday night, a Twitter Space was held to discuss everything under the sun. At one point, it had upwards of 3,000 listeners and many of them were journalists and high-profile personalities.

One of the people to join the chat was Calzada.

In Twitter Spaces, a person can either request to speak, or be requested to speak, so Calzada was called out.

Once it was discovered that Auburn’s new transfer quarterback was in the Space, the host was quick to request him to speak. In response, Calzada was very quick to leave the chat.

On his way out, he caught a hilarious stray shot.

College football Twitter is the best.

It never sleeps.
