The Bears have decided to part ways with wide receiver Chase Claypool, ending what can only be described as a disappointing stint in Chicago.

Dianna Russini of TheAthletic broke the news that Claypool being traded to the Dolphins.

In exchange, the Dolphins are sending a 2025 sixth-round pick to the Bears, while Chicago is shipping Claypool and a 2025 seventh-round pick back down to Miami.

Claypool, who once showed immense promise during his time with the Steelers, landed in the Windy City just last year as part of a trade that had the Steelers pocketing the 32nd overall pick in the 2023 NFL draft.

Looking back, it’s safe to say the Steelers came out as the clear winners in that deal, while the Bears had a tough go of it while dealing with Claypool and his lack of effort.

During his brief tenure in Chicago, Chase Claypool managed 18 catches for 191 yards and a single touchdown in 10 games, all of which the Bears lost. Ouch.

Claypool previously declared himself as a Top-5 wide receiver in the NFL, it is as laughable now to hear as it was then.

Now, as he heads to Miami, Claypool will be joining an already impressive group of offensive talents. Maybe, just maybe, he’ll find his groove again and make some big plays in a different kind of offense.

Time will tell how this trade pans out for both teams.
