Bengals Star QB Joe Burrow Out For Season After MRI Reveals Torn Ligament In Wrist

Any hope the Cincinnati Bengals had of the winning the Super Bowl may have just gone out the window after an MRI revealed a torn ligament in the wrist of star quarterback Joe Burrow.

The injury will cause Burrow to miss the entirety of the remaining 2023 NFL season.

Burrow was not listed on the Bengals’ injury reporting entering their Thursday Night Football game against the Baltimore Orioles. But video of the star quarterback wearing a wrist brace while exiting the team plane sparked speculation.

That speculation was proved true when Burrow left the game against the Ravens after a touchdown pass to running back Joe Mixon.

Burrow did not return to the game in the second half and Baltimore rolled to a 34-20 victory.

‘Joe Burrow expected to get an MRI on his sprained wrist tomorrow, per source. Burrow declined comment from his locker while wearing a multi-layered wrap on his wrist Bengals players optimistic yet uncertain. Mike Hilton told me he doesn’t sense Burrow will miss the season,” ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said after the game.

Hilton, who as far as we know does not have any medical training, was in correct.

Cincinnati revealed late Friday that Burrow suffered a torn ligament and will, in fact, miss the season.

A resurfaced video from Cincy’s loss to the Houston Texans on Sunday appears to show the moment of the injury. Which could land the Bengals in additional trouble if they knowingly avoided placing Burrow on the team’s injury report.

Either way, Cincinnati is now 5-5 in a loaded AFC North and will proceed with Jake Browning as its starting quarterback.

Good luck with that, Bengals.
