Bill Belichick Shuts Down Reporters Asking About Patriots Firing Him In Vintage Fashion

Bill Belichick has never been particularly eager to answer the questions reporters lob at him during press conferences, and you probably won’t be shocked to learn that was the case when he was peppered with queries about his time with the Patriots coming to an end.

On Monday, a report surfaced that suggested Robert Kraft and the New England Patriots decided to part ways with Bill Belichick thanks to what unfolded when the team headed over to face off against the Indianapolis Colts in Germany earlier this season.

While Belichick is undoubtedly an NFL legend, he and the Patriots have struggled to find their footing after losing Tom Brady, and a team that’s currently sitting at 3-10 and out of playoff contention is arguably in the roughest shape it’s been since he took the reins in Foxborough in 2000.

As things currently stand, it appears the Patriots are going to let Belichick finish out the season before moving on to someone else (current linebackers coach Jerad Mayo seems to be the top candidate to replace him, although it does seem like there’s a chance the franchise will explore its options before naming a new head coach).

On Sunday, the Patriots will face off against the Chiefs in what promises to be an incredibly one-sided contest based on everything we’ve witnessed from both teams during the course of the current campaign (they were initially slated to face off on Monday night football, but the NFL opted to flex them to to the day before).

On Wednesday, multiple reporters attempted to get Belichick to address the rumors concerning his impending departure, but he made it very clear he’s getting ready for Kansas City during the press conference.

At this point, it would be foolish to expect Belichick to be candid and forthcoming about any topic he doesn’t feel like addressing, and while you can’t blame the media for trying to do their jobs, they had to see those answers coming.
