Bill Walton Goes Off The Rails Like Casey Jones, Starts Quoting Neil Young Before UCLA-Stanford Game

Bill Walton is an American national treasure. On Thursday evening, ESPN had the former UCLA Bruin/NBA Hall of Famer/Deadhead in the booth to call UCLA vs. Stanford at Pauley Pavilion. Though he wasn’t talking about not showering or the many, many Grateful Dead shows he’s been too, he DID drop an off-the-rails Waltonism, quoting Neil Young.

He also said “tonight will determine the fate of the world,” which is the most Walton thing I’ve heard in years. I simply can’t fathom how much fun Walton was during the Carter Administration after a couple hits of Orange Sunshine blotter acid. Bill Walton dropping stoner rock lyrics during game calls never, ever gets old.
