Bo Nix is in New York City for the Heisman Trophy ceremony this weekend. He will be there alongside Jayden Daniels, Marvin Harrison Jr., and Michael Penix.
Before the festivities got underway on Saturday, the finalists were put to work on Friday! They rolled by the local Raising Cane’s to help out behind the counter. There have been a lot of similar promotions over the last few years at which star athletes or celebrities pick up a shift.
This was the same!
Bo Nix took the opportunity to take a shot at his former SEC West rival while slinging chicken tenders. He joked that he was capable of assisting a customer, unlike Daniels, because he didn’t attend Louisiana State University.
!! Pow pow !!
Nix, who played three years of college football at Auburn and two years at Oregon, landed his joke perfectly. It was almost as if he had been sitting on that line for a few days. He was ready to fire when the opportunity presented itself.
According to a quick Google search, it is not entirely clear if Nix had the right to make that joke. Barely. The Tigers from Alabama might be slightly more academic than the Tigers from Baton Rouge.

If Nix really wanted his joke to land, he would have hit Daniels with a quip about Arizona State. Going after a fellow SEC institution may not have been the move when the Sun Devils were right there!
Regardless of its accuracy, the jab totally landed. Nix got a good laugh from the fine folks in search of Caniac Combo with no slaw and double toast — the only acceptable order.
To make it even funnier, Canes founder Todd Graves went to LSU. Nix took a shot at the very man who welcomed him into his restaurant and put him to work!
