Bobby Knight Doesn’t Know What a Shot Clock Is

During last night’s Kentucky-Vanderbilt game, the officials allowed a crucial Wildcats bucket to count when there should have been a shot-clock violation. It was, upon replay, a pretty egregious call.

Everyone watching knew the Commodores had been jobbed. Well, everyone except Knight, who couldn’t figure out what the hell was going on.

Luckily, his partner Rece Davis was there to hold his hand and explain some basketball basics. Here is their ever-so-awkward exchange.

Knight: “That 17.3 was up there and the zero was on the bottom. I don't know what that meant.”
Davis: “The zero was the shot clock.
Knight: “What was the 17.3?”
Davis: “Game clock. What was remaining in the half.”

Speechless.

At least ol’ Bobby looks great in a sweater. So he’s got that going for him, which is nice.
