When this year’s All-NBA teams were announced, there were a few players that had a bit of added interest in the names on that list.

For certain players, whether or not they ended up on an All-NBA team this year determined whether they would be eligible for a max extension.

Jaylen Brown was one of those players and ended up seeing his name on the 2nd team.

Now he’s working on a contract extension with the Boston Celtics ahead of the last year on his current deal and that new contract could reportedly be massive.

According to NBA insider Adrian Wojnarowski, Brown’s deal could be the richest in NBA history, paying him up to $304 million total and $70 million in its final year.

“This is a deal that would be the richest contract in NBA history,” Woj said. “It could be worth up to $304 million. In the final year of that deal, Brown will be making $70 million.”

If you asked most basketball fans who they think the highest paid player in the NBA is, Jaylen Brown is probably not a name that would be high on their list of guesses.

Brown has developed into a star during his time in the NBA, but is the #2 player on his own team.

Luckily for the Celtics, they are a couple of years away from Jayson Tatum’s turn to get a max extension, which will give them one of the NBA’s most expensive duos.

The Brown-Tatum combo has already led the Boston Celtics to an NBA Finals appearance and was a game away from getting back there this past season.

The investment in their stars will put plenty of pressure on the Celtics to bring home a ring in the next few years.
