Disgruntled wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk has now accused the San Francisco 49ers of lying to the media and fans in his latest nonsensical social media post.

After numerous bizarre claims, some run-ins with the law, and due to his alleged failure to attend knee rehab sessions with the team, the 49ers placed the 28-year-old on the reserve/left team list. In doing so, the team voided the remaining guarantees on the four-year, $120 million contract Brandon Aiyuk signed in 2024.

They do not, however, have to trade him or release him. If the 49ers want to, they can just wait for Aiyuk to file a petition with the league for reinstatement from the reserve/left squad list and show up or let him just sit around in limbo.

Brandon Aiyuk continues to be his own worst enemy

It appears, at least based on his latest social media post, that Brandon Aiyuk is choosing the latter.

“I will not be reinstating with them nor ever doing any kind of business with them,” Aiyuk wrote. “I’m locked in and focused on my opportunity to return to the field this season!

“When the news finally came out that my guarantees were voided in November,” he continued. “The team continued to lie to the media/fan base acting as if that was not a decision that was made in July. Continually saying that I would be returning, despite that fact that I told them on numerous occasions that I would not be. With the severity of my injury and guarantees no longer on the table that was not an option.

“we are 1 year from the date in which they made the decision to void my guarantees due to ‘missed rehab’ yet they have the footage and the gps information that shows I reached markers I never hit even before injury. All before the required recovery time ordered by the surgeon.”

Would any team actually want Brandon Aiyuk?

An NFL player rep told A to Z Sports’ Rob Gregson that he assumes Aiyuk “is done in the league.”

“He’s gone beyond the Antonio Brown route this point and anyone, including the Commanders would be crazy to add him to the locker room. I mean is even working out?” the rep said. “He’s not helping himself and doesn’t have the capacity to play anymore.”

The Commanders would be especially crazy to want Brandon Aiyuk after he blasted Jayden Daniels on the Fourth of July for laughing when a fan approached him at a World Cup game with a camera and said, “F— Brandon Aiyuk. … You better not throw s— to him next year.”

In an Instagram story where he tagged Daniels, his former teammate at Arizona State, Aiyuk wrote, “‘5’ gonna text me talking about some, ‘You’re on my team now. You follow my rules.’

“Boy, I’m a grown-a– man, boy. You gonna have to start running behind your mamma, and I might believe what you talking about. But until then, mmm-mmm.”
