Wisconsin is known for being home to people who can throw back booze at an impressive rate, as there’s plenty of data that shows why it’s earned a reputation as the drunkest state in America. Some Brewers fans highlighted that reality during the World Series, as a bar in Florida credited members of the Milwaukee faithful after it sold a month’s worth of beer in one night.

There are plenty of places across America with a well-established drinking culture, but it’s hard to think of a single state that comes close to going toe-to-toe with Wisconsin on that particular front.

Wisconsin boasts the most bars per capita in the country, and it has historically topped the list of the “drunkest states” in the nation based on the number of residents who admit to binge-drinking on a regular basis; North Dakota claimed the crown in 2026, but a county-by-county map based on numbers compiled in 2021 highlights the overall dominance of the Badger State.

One study also showed people who root for the Packers firmly top the list of the fanbases who drink the most beer on game day, and while Brewers fans are statistically at the bottom of the Top 10 on that front, some of them were responsible for an incredibly impressive feat that unfolded in Florida ahead of Game 3 of the World Series.

A bar in St. Petersburg says Brewers fans were primarily responsible for buying as much beer in one night as it typically sells in a month

The Brewers took the first two games of the World Series at home, and they came one win away from claiming their first title in the franchise history when they took a 3-0 lead over the Rays with a 10-1 blowout at Tropicana Field on Monday night (although Tampa Bay forced a Game 5 with a win on Tuesday).

That stadium is surrounded by bars that serve as an ideal location to pregame before you head inside, including Ferg’s, which is located right across the street.

On Tuesday, Evan Axelbank of Fox13 spoke with the owner of Ferg’s about the mark Brewers fans who patronized it on the day of Game 3 managed to make, as they were positioned as the top culprit after it moved 1,000 cases of Miller Lite and Coors Light (a grand total of 24,000 beers), which is normally what the establishment sells in a single month.

Well done.
