Brock Bowers is one of the greatest tight ends in college football history. He is going to be a great player in the NFL. It would be shocking if he is not drafted in the first round of the 2024 NFL Draft.
Should Bowers end up slipping past the first 32 picks, an image that is currently going viral online will be the reason. Teams are not dumb enough to pass on a generational talent because of one photo from an unfortunate angle, but his agent likely would have preferred that it was never posted in the first place.
Rob Gronkowski makes Brock Bowers look small.
At 34 years old, Gronk’s NFL career is behind him. He played at 6-foot-6, 265 pounds and has slimmed out pretty significantly since his playing days. Bowers was listed at 6-foot-4, 240 pounds at Georgia last season.
The latter stood next to the former on radio row at the Super Bowl in Las Vegas earlier this week. Rob Gronkowski dwarfed the soon-to-be first rounder. Bowers looked like his little brother.
The angle wasn’t great. The optics were even worse.
DeAnna Bowers, Brock’s mother, likely saw all of the chatter surrounding her son’s size. She replied to the initial post with a second photo that provides a more accurate look at the discrepancy.

It is very possible that DeAnna was simply sharing another picture from a cool moment for Brock. However, the timing and optics of her response appear to indicate an effort to clear things up. She replied more than 24 hours later, so she saw all of the chatter about the initial post.
Either way, the reply did not really help to clear things up. Gronkowski still looks a lot bigger than Bowers. Because he is.
None of this will matter in the end.
Brock Bowers is arguably the best to ever do it on the college level. He is going to be a stud on the next level. His future is very bright.
That doesn’t take away from the hilarious visual of Gronk making Bowers look like a random fan off of the street who won a contest to meet the former Patriots and Buccaneers star!
