In a rough night for the Broncos, they took a hit against the Chiefs on Thursday Night Football, losing 19-8. It’s their 16th straight defeat to the Chiefs, which gotta hurt.

Last season, the Broncos went all-in on Russell Wilson, trading away a bunch of draft picks and a lot of cash to get him from the Seahawks. But so far, Wilson and the gang haven’t delivered the goods.

This year, they even splurged on Sean Payton, trading away a 1st and 2nd round pick and throwing $100 million his way to be the head coach. But the Broncos’ 1-5 record in the 2023 season is a far cry from what the fans were hoping for.

The defense did surprisingly well, keeping Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs under 20 points. But the offense dropped the ball, especially Wilson, who threw for under 100 yards and had 2 interceptions.

After the game, Payton shared some interesting words, saying, “To win in our league you’ve got to be better throwing the ball,” which seems like a little dig at his own quarterback.

Russell Wilson wasn’t making excuses, saying, “Obviously, the two turnovers by me are unacceptable, they can’t happen.”

As for where they go from here, maybe they’ll shake things up, possibly even trading wideout Jerry Jeudy, who had a tiff with NFL Media’s Steve Smith and then proceeded to have a rough game.

They’ve already traded away Randy Gregory and cut Frank Clark, so who knows what’s next?

Can it get any worse for the Broncos? We’ll just have to wait and see.
