Last summer, Lane Johnson made a vow to the people of Philadelphia a: if the Eagles managed to win the Super Bowl, he’d buy beer for the entire city. As you’re likely aware, the team managed to bring home the Lombardi Trophy for the first time in franchise history, which meant Johnson was on the hook to make good on his pledge. Thankfully, Bud Light had promised to subsidize the promise, and they made sure people celebrating at the Super Bowl parade were able to take Johnson up on his offer by supplying free beer to bars along the route.

The Patriots might currently be the favorite to win the Super Bowl, but it appears the offensive tackle is confident the Eagles can repeat this season. Johnson was supposed to get $10.25 million to play in the upcoming year, but he recently reworked his contract to help the team clear cap space and agreed to play for a base salary of a measly $790,000.

He’ll still end up making north of $10 million based on the way the contract is structured, but Bud Light decided to pay him back for his gesture by sending him a bunch of cases of beer.

They also included a note that reads:

Dear Lane,

You have proven yourself a true friend to the crown in obtaining beer for your city following your Super Bowl victory. However your latest gesture in restructuring your contract for the Eagles of Philadelphia makes you an even truer friend of the crown.

We know it wasn’t exactly a pay cut, but anyone who makes a sacrifice to help out his team is a friend you can count on and for that we wanted to reward you a few beers to share with your Eagles brethren. Dilly Dilly!

Your friends,

Bud Light.

I’ll Dilly Dilly to that.
