The second fight between Canelo Alvarez and Gennady Golovkin is the most anticipated boxing match of the year. Unfortunately for fans who paid for the $90 PPV there was a lot of dead air after three initial preliminary fights ended early.
The Canelo-GGG fight will not begin before 8 p.m. PT despite the undercard wrapping up by 6:30 p.m. PT.

Fans took to Twitter to complain about the 90 minute wait time for the main event.

I'm at a movie theater watching #CaneloGGG2. The undercard fights just finished and now I gotta wait 90 minutes to watch the main event. 😤😤😤

This @HBOboxing commentary is killing me. Those undercard fights really screwed with the timing. #CaneloGGG2 pic.twitter.com/B7tJjnyZYb

I’m nearing my Kellerman threshold #CaneloGGG2

This dead time is killing any vibe that remained from the Munguia fight. Still almost an hour before #CaneloGGG2

3:10am here and we'll have had a 90min break between fights by the time the bell rings for #CaneloGGG2… The struggle to stay awake is real 😴

I didn’t pay for a PPV for 90 minutes of lampley, Jones and kellerman. Has the feel of a super bowl pregame show!lol! On the bright side lampley almost cried talking about Matthew macklin

The pacing of Boxing events are just awful, 34 minutes prior to the co-main & now 90+ minutes waiting on the main event. Outside of the main event this entire card was a mismatch of skills. Pitiful fights. Thank god for the #UFC. #GGG #Canelo #GGGvsCanelo2
