  • Deshaun Watson did not play a single snap during the entirety of the 2021-22 NFL season.
  • Despite this, several teams are reportedly interested in acquiring the Pro Bowler’s signal-calling services.
  • The Carolina Panthers are the latest team to be reportedly monitoring Watson’s situation.

While Deshaun Watson may not have played last season, his talent still remains fresh in the minds of several NFL teams, as the Carolina Panthers are reportedly the latest NFL franchise to express an interest in trading for the 26-year-old quarterback.

According to a report from The Charlotte Observer, “the Panthers have again been in contact with the Texans this month about Watson and what a potential trade would look like.”

A trade for Watson, of course, remains quite complicated as the Clemson University product remains in the midst of legal proceedings following “numerous criminal complaints and 22 different civil cases alleging sexual misconduct and sexual assault during massage sessions.”

Prosecutors in Harris County, Texas, will present evidence to a grand jury Friday in the criminal case involving Deshaun Watson, and a decision on whether to indict him with a criminal offense could come later that day… it will finally provide teams clarity on whether it’s worth pursuing the Houston Texans quarterback, who is facing numerous criminal complaints and 22 different civil cases alleging sexual misconduct and sexual assault during massage sessions. In addition to the Carolina Panthers — who are quite clearly ready to give up on their Sam Darnold experiment — the Seattle Seahawks have also been rumored to harbor an interest in the former Heisman Trophy winner. The Washington Commanders also reportedly had an interest in Watson, but given their recent acquisition for Carson Wentz, that now seems unlikely.
