A new era is beginning for the Carolina Panthers this offseason.

They find themselves hoping that they drafted their franchise quarterback a couple of weeks ago when they spent the first pick in the NFL Draft on Bryce Young.

Despite that hope, it seems they are determined to bring the former Alabama QB along slowly.

According to The Athletic’s Joe Person, Frank Reich revealed that for some reason Andy Dalton would be taking the first team reps on Monday at OTAs.

We already knew that the Panthers are going to play the “this isn’t Bryce Young’s job yet” game this offseason because it worked so well for them last season with Baker Mayfield.

However, this is just such a bad move.

The Carolina Panthers didn’t trade away DJ Moore and a ton of draft capital to get the number 1 pick and use it to draft Bryce Young because they wanted to wait around for him to be their starting quarterback.

Andy Dalton isn’t going to be starting for this team Week 1. If he is, there should be some real concerns about Bryce Young.

So why aren’t the Panthers getting their rookie QB every single touch with the 1st team that they can?

He needs to develop a rapport with his receiver and even if he is getting more reps than Dalton over the course of the day, they are still coming with the wrong players.

We know Bryce Young is going to start for the Panthers this season. The Carolina Panthers know Bryce Young is going to start for the Panthers this season.

Their main focus this offseason should be doing whatever they can to ensure he’s ready for Week 1.
