Joe Burrow and the Cincinnati Bengals are on the precipice of winning the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl but they’ll have to go through Matthew Stafford, Cooper Kupp, and the Los Angeles Rams IN L.A. which is no easy task. Former Bengals QB was asked about this.

Ja’Marr Chase and Joe Burrow are the biggest stories on the Cincinnati side and they’ve dominated the headlines leading up to Super Bowl Sunday. Speaking with Bengals.com senior writer Geoff Hobson, former Bengals quarterback Carson Palmer shared what Cincy needs to do in order to win and he expressed what it’s like to be in Joe’s shoes right now.

One of the words that Carson Palmer used was ‘demoralizing’ which is an interesting way to describe a QB’s role when that guy is in the Super Bowl right now. It feels like Carson Palmer is putting himself in Joe’s role a bit when referring to it as ‘demoralizing’ but here are the comments so you can interpret them for yourselves.

Carson Palmer Explains Why It’s Been ‘Demoralizing’ To Be In Joe Burrow’s Shoes

“Love everything about him,” Palmer said. “Very level-headed. It’s demoralizing to get sacked that many times, … that takes an emotional toll on everybody … but you never felt that way watching him play. He was cool. He was calm. The offensive line believed in him. They knew the defense would get a stop. There’s a great belief and great energy in that magic. Just enough to get this team past all those All-Pros and All-Stars I hope.”

Compilation of Joe Burrow getting sacked 9 times by the Titans

Sure it sucks to get sacked as often as Joe Burrow but is it really demoralizing when you still manage to lead your team to the Super Bowl? Joe Burrow has been sacked 51 times this season! And that’s on top of Joe ranking 6th fastest in the NFL for getting rid of the ball. So yeah, it must be annoying to get sacked repeatedly despite throwing the ball so fast but demoralizing? I’m not buying it.

Carson Palmer was also asked about what Joe Burrow and the Bengals need to do in order to beat the Los Angeles Rams. The Bengals are 3.5-point underdogs at a lot of sportsbooks…

What Carson Palmers Says Burrow And Ja’Marr Chase Need To Do To Win…

“The ball has to come out quick. They did a good job with Ja’Marr (Chase) last week motioning him. Lining him up in the backfield. Not letting him get doubled. Joe has to get the ball out and he can’t hold it waiting for him to come off that coverage … They’ve been so creative with motioning him around and finding ways to get him the ball. You just can’t sit back and hold it.”

The ball does come out quick. Joe Burrow is the sixth-fastest in the NFL at getting ride of the ball. It also feels like a LOT of people are forgetting about Tee Higgins and Joe Mixon with all of the Burrow-Chase chatter. Those two players will be absolutely crucial in the Bengals’ plans to beat the Rams.

Carson Palmer had a career record of 1-3 in the NFL Playoffs so he certainly knows a thing or two about what needs to be done to avoid losing a game. Joe Burrow is now 3-0 on the NFL Playoffs and has thrown for 842 yards in three games. Joe Cool is electric. I certainly don’t think there’s anything demoralizing about the role he’s been in even if it sucks to get sacked.
