Free-agent quarterback Carson Wentz has stirred up social media buzz after posting a series of photos on his Instagram account.

The pictures show Wentz in a perplexing ensemble, donning a Commanders jersey, an Eagles helmet, and Colts shorts, as he continues his training efforts in hopes of returning to the NFL.

Wentz’s career has been marked by his stints with those three teams — the Philadelphia Eagles, Indianapolis Colts, and Washington Commanders. Unfortunately, each tenure ended in a fashion more tragic than the last.

The 30-year-old quarterback’s journey has led him far from the MVP-caliber player he was once perceived to be in the 2017 season, leaving him currently without a team willing to take a gamble on him.

Accompanying the four snapshots, Wentz added a caption that read, “Back in the lab.. just looks a little different so far this year 🙃 #alternateuniforms #trainingcamp2023”.

The most recent reports on Wentz were back on June 15th, when ESPN’s Adam Schefter shared that Wentz expressed his desire and intention to play in the upcoming season while waiting for the “right opportunity”.

This followed an earlier report by Jeremy Fowler in May, indicating that Wentz is “open to any role”, which means potentially accepting a backup position.

Despite these reports, Wentz remains unsigned, raising questions about his current prospects in the league.
