Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson often shares tweets with photos of some of the big tips he leaves wait staff at restaurants.
Johnson does this so often that at one point in the past we actually had a story on him titled “How Many More Charitable Acts Must Chad Johnson Do Before Sainthood?”
On Thursday, OchoCinco did it again, sharing a photo of a tremendously generous $1,000 tip on a $81.95 bill at a Longhorn Steakhouse.
“Merry Christmas,” Johnson wrote at the bottom of the receipt, which it almost certainly will be for his server.

On Friday, one critic on Twitter with nothing better to do tried to shame him for sharing the photo with the big tip on it. That was a mistake.
“Bible says to never let your left hand know what your right is doing, stay humble,” the person tweeted back at Chad Johnson.

His message, perhaps sent with a positive intent, was met harshly by, well, a whole lot of people.

“For those saying @ochocinco posted for clout – consider an alternate view. Maybe he’s attempting to inspire others to do the same,” another fan wrote. “I waited tables all through college + moments like this were life changers for me during difficult financial times – more of this, not less.”
Bible says alot of dumb shit. You ever quote these? Or just the ones that give you a hint of moral superiority? pic.twitter.com/icOiujJ1ZK

The pièce de résistance, however, belonged to the originator of the entertaining Twitter thread: Chad Johnson.
“That’s for the people with no talent that accept participation trophies, i walk & talk loud, blame your parents for your short comings in life, don’t use the Bible as a crutch, Happy Holidays,” Johnson replied.

Needless to say, fans on Twitter fell squarely in Chad Johnson’s corner in this ridiculous fight.

“Cook these fools Unc,” someone else commented.

“I’d like to report a murder,” another fan tweeted.
