In a shocking group of social media posts, Las Vegas Raiders defensive end Chandler Jones — who is currently away from the team right now — accused head coach Josh McDaniels of having Aaron Hernandez murdered at an industrial park.

On Twitter, Jones plainly said “Josh McDaniels had my twin Aaron Hernandez killed at industrial park, not in jail.”

Jones then directed people to his Instagram account, where he posted a video of himself crying as he continued to claim that Hernandez did not kill himself in prison.

“Wait, they don’t know what happened with Aaron Hernandez and Josh McDaniels? Y’all thought Chico killed himself in jail,” Jones says before breaking down into tears.

Part of Jones’ Instagram Live video can be seen below, although, given the nature of what he’s discussing and his apparent mental state, viewer discretion is advised.

Jones has made further troubling posts on social media, including speaking about “exposing” Raiders owner Mark Davis and turning down apparent assistance from the NFL Players Association.

The 33-year-old Jones was drafted by the New England Patriots in the 1st round of the 2012 NFL Draft, which meant he played with Hernandez during his rookie season.

Hernandez played three seasons in the NFL before he was arrested and charged with murder, resulting in him being sentenced to life in prison. Hernandez killed himself in his jail cell at the age of 27 years old on April 19, 2017.

After playing in New England from 2012 to 2015 (winning one Super Bowl while there), Jones would go on to play for the Arizona Cardinals from 2016 to 2021 before signing with the Raiders in 2022. Named to the NFL 2010s All-Decade Team, Jones is considered to be among the best defensive players of his generation.

On September 23, after saying on Instagram that he no longer wanted to play for the Raiders after they allegedly locked him out of their facility, Jones was placed on the non-football illness list and has been away from the team.

In the days since, Jones has taken to social media to claim that he was taken against his will to a mental health facility by the Las Vegas fire department.

At the time of this writing, neither the Raiders nor McDaniels has addressed the shocking allegations made by Jones.
