Charles Barkley And Shaq Got In A HEATED Argument, Chuck Says Shaq ‘Rode On Kobe And Dwayne Wade’s Coattails’

Charles Barkley And Shaq Got In A HEATED Argument Over Jimmy Butler

TNT

  • Charles Barkley and Shaq come to blows quite often on Inside The NBA.
  • The pair got in quite a heated argument prior to Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals.
  • The argument was about whether or not Jimmy Butler can score 40 points whenever he wants.

It occurred to me last night as I flipped to TNT, it occurred to me that the Western Conference Finals between the Dallas Mavericks and Golden State Warriors will be the last stretch of Inside The NBA shows of the year, as ABC/ESPN has the exclusive rights to the NBA Finals. And with Charles Barkley teasing that his retirement could be on the horizon in the coming years, that means that every last episode of the beloved NBA show needs to be cherished.

The reason Inside The NBA is widely considered to be the best pre-and-postgame show in sports, of course, is due to the personalities and the antics of its panel: Shaq, Kenny Smith, and Charles Barkley.

Those oversized personalities were on display ahead of Game 1 of the Western Conference Finals on Wednesday night, as the pair got into one of their trademark heated debates about whether or not Jimmy Butler can score 40 points whenever he wants.

The result was the pair, as they often do, arguing about their respective careers, with Shaq taking shots at Barkley’s lack of a championship, while Chuck claimed that Shaq simply rode Kobe Bryant and Dwayne Wade’s coattails.

Hopefully, Luka Doncic and the rest of the Mavs show more fight than they did in Game 1 so we can get as many Inside The NBA episodes as possible before the season ends.
