Is it possible to watch these clips just once? I don’t think so because I catch myself watching it three times a day since it was posted to Instagram. I don’t think there has ever been a pre/post-game show in the history of sports coverage that I look forward to more than the NBA on TNT crew. Depending on the game that night, I can honestly say that there are some nights I look forward to the show more than the actual game that TNT is covering that day.
Shaq, Ernie, Chuck, and Kenny the Jet has been one of the most electric combinations to ever be brought to television in my opinion. In the third clip of the post, Kenny isn’t even aware that the cameras are rolling and that they are on live TV. That is the beauty of the show, whether the cameras are rolling or not these guys are the exact same people with the exact same energy.
The joy these guys have rolling up to the studio every day to bust each other’s balls on live television is undeniable. The best part of the entire show is the uncertainty of it all, you never know what Chuck or Shaq are going to say and there is absolutely no controlling it. The two are a producer’s dream and worst nightmare as their ratings will always be sky high, the banter will always be at a premium, but you just never know what is going to come out of these guys’ mouths.
Barkley has always been known for not having a filter in his playing days in the NBA and it’s been so great to see that it has not changed in his days off the hardwood.
My proposal is this, bring these guys back to television ASAP. I understand there is no basketball going on right now, but who cares? Let the TNT boys talk politics, movies, current events, whatever it is, just get a camera in their face and let them run free. This is what the world needs, pure laughing and entertainment.
