Cheerleader Ejected For Inappropriate Act At College Basketball Game (Video)

A basketball hoop.

A cheerleader went viral over the weekend after being ejected from a game. An on-court incident involving her and an opposing player led to the dismissal.

Reaction has since flooded social media following the bizarre sequence of events.

The ejection took place in a recent matchup between Mississippi Valley State and Alabama A&M. Late in the action, with the two foes tied at 63-63, an Alabama A&M player attempted to inbound the basketball.

Initially, the play appeared harmless. The player passed the ball to a teammate, who quickly scurried up the court. But upon further review, you can actually see an MSVU cheerleader sort of jump into the Bulldog player under the basket.

She apparently took offense to the bump as it impeded her ability to cheer on her team. So, when the Bulldogs returned to their end of the court, the cheerleader let the Alabama A&M player know.

She walked onto the floor, then shoved the player in frustration.

Shortly after, security was called to escort the cheerleader out of the arena. Fans were quick to react to the clip, posting responses online.

One person wrote, “Simply inappropriate and that was the right call.”

Another asked, “Was she upset he interrupted her routine?”

It’s not the first odd incident we’ve seen involving a cheerleader at a basketball game. Just last week, in another SWAC matchup, a cheerleader received an interference call after attempting to distract opposing players during free throws.

That game also saw a near brawl as players and coaches on one side got into a shouting match with fans on the bench. At least one coach was seen walking into the crowd to argue with those fans.

Now, we’ve seen our second bizarre incident in as many weeks.

Unfortunately, there wasn’t much more for Mississippi Valley State to cheer about after the ejection. The Delta Devils were defeated in double overtime, 70-68, falling to just 3-23 on the season.

At least the cheerleader got her viral moment.
