There’s really nothing enticing about the Washington Commanders franchise right now and it’s all thanks to Dan Snyder. His presence is a dark looming cloud that hangs over the organization and it won’t go away until he does. It’s getting so bad, that Washington legend Chris Cooley threw some major shade at the franchise.

During an appearance on The Kevin Sheehan Show, Cooley commented about the Commanders honoring him as “one of ten legends being added to the team’s ’90 greatest’ list,” in the upcoming game against the Green Bay Packers. Chris Cooley didn’t seem too excited about it whatsoever.

According to Ari Meirov, the Washington legend says he won’t be attending the ceremony. He claims, “at this point I don’t have a lot of desire to be involved with the Commanders.”

And who can blame him? The franchise has been a hot mess for years. Sure, there are some exciting players on the roster. However, the spotlight is directed on Commanders owner Dan Snyder. On top of that, they arguably (I don’t know who would argue against it) have the worst stadium in the league. It’s just embarrassing in Washington right now and Chris Cooley wants nothing to do with it.

We’ll see if the light ever comes back to Washington but it likely won’t happen until Dan Snyder is out of the picture. Until then, we could hear more Washington legends, like tight end Chris Cooley, throw shade at the Commanders.
