Kansas City Chiefs defensive lineman Chris Jones unlocked a $1.25 million bonus in his final game of the regular season. Jones recorded a sack in a matchup against the Chargers, giving him 10 on the year.

Knowing the magnitude of the quarterback takedown, Chiefs players went wild on the sidelines. Every Kansas City teammate was excited for the big man.

The Chiefs are locked into the No. 3 seed in the AFC after picking up a Week 17 win over Cincinnati. With no ability to either improve or hurt their playoff chances, a number of starters were left out of the lineup.

Blaine Gabbert landed the start for Patrick Mahomes. Tight end Travis Kelce was on the sidelines, as was running back Isiah Pacheco.

Kelce’s absence was significant given he was just 16 yards from recording his eighth straight 1,000-yard campaign.

For Chris Jones, playing time was crucial. He was one sack away from that $1M+ bonus.

Midway through the third quarter, Jones unlocked that bonus with a takedown of Los Angeles passer Easton Stick. He quickly ran to the sidelines where he was mobbed by teammates.

Chris Jones bought Rolexes for defensive teammates with last bonus.

Jones hit the same contract incentive last season, and he showed love for his defensive line teammates by buying them new watches.

After hitting a 10-sack threshold in 2022, which triggered a bonus of $1.25 million, Jones purchased Rolex watches for each of his teammates on the defensive line, as well as his defensive line coach, Joe Cullen… The watches arrived just before Christmas.

Is a similar gift on its way now that Jones has eclipsed the 10-sack mark again in 2023?
