Chris Paul Claims Adam Silver Lied About NBA Intervening In Scott Foster Beef

The ongoing feud between Chris Paul and Scott Foster isn’t a great look for the NBA, although it appeared the league had attempted to address it based on what Adam Silver had to say earlier this week. However, based on what CP3 has to say about those comments, the commissioner may have not been entirely truthful.

If you’re out of the loop, plenty of NBA fans are convinced longtime referee Scott Foster has held a grudge against Chris Paul based on how the guard has fared in playoff games (as well as some regular season contests) the official has worked since an incident that transpired when the veteran was playing for the Clippers.

Last month, we learned that feud can allegedly be traced back to Paul’s time in Los Angeles, as his son was apparently playing around in a tunnel after a game when he was obscenely berated by Foster while the ref was attempting to leave the arena.

Paul said he had a meeting with Foster in an attempt to work things out following that fateful night, but it’s pretty evident it didn’t do much to diffuse the situation.

Adam Silver recently asserted the league had sent a message to both parties informing them they have an obligation to do their jobs even if they can’t be friends, and while that directive may now be public, Paul implied that was the first time he’d heard about it during a postgame press conference where he asserted he’d never actually been personally contacted by the commissioner.

Here’s what he had to say via Sports Illustrated:

“He said he talked to us? Nah, ain’t nobody called me since all that happened.

Sometimes they’ll call, interview, ain’t nobody called, texted, nothing… I haven’t talked to Adam, [President of League Operations] Byron [Spruell], nobody.

I talked to Byron, but I had to call him, no one called me… Ain’t nothing ever changed as far as that.”

As I alluded to above, the message has now been sent regardless of whether or not Silver personally spoke with Paul and Foster, but if he had to use a radio interview to get the point across, it’s certainly not the best look for him and the league.
