Chicago Cubs outfielder Cody Bellinger is getting married.

On Thursday, Bellinger’s girlfriend Chase Carter revealed on Instagram that the 2019 National League MVP had given her a ring.

The 26-year-old Sports Illustrated swimsuit model shared a picture of herself sitting on a wall next to Lake Michigan in Chicago, holding up her hand adorned with a square cut diamond engagement ring.

She also shared a couple more pics in the post, including one of her kissing the 27-year-old Bellinger on the cheek as he grinned from ear to ear.

In an Instagram Story, Carter shared more photos announcing the big news to friends. One of them said it was the “BEST CALL EVER” and added that she couldn’t “imagine” Carter “with any better man.”

Cody Bellinger and Chase Carter already have two children together, Caiden Carter Bellinger, who was born in 2021, and another daughter, Cy Carter Bellinger, born in April of 2023.

Carter, who was born in Nassau, The Bahamas, first appeared the Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue in 2018 and has modeled for numerous companies including Victoria’s Secret, Ralph Lauren, and Maybelline.

In 2020, it was revealed that she had begun dating Cody Bellinger after breaking up with New York Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton.

Interestingly, in a bit of foreshadowing, Carter threw out the first pitch at a Chicago Cubs game way back in 2017.

Cody Bellinger is currently playing on a one-year contract with the Cubs worth $17.5 million. The 2017 National League Rookie of the Year is batting .261 with 7 home runs, 22 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 48 games in 2023.

Rumors are swirling that he could be dealt at the trade deadline with the New York Yankees being a possible destination.

If that does happen, perhaps he can sign a long term deal with the team and Carter will be right for another chance to run in the New York City Marathon.

She is certainly a fan of the city, and a big sports fan.

“It’s pretty remarkable because I’ve been running outside now and seeing more of the city, so being able to know New York as much as I know the Bahamas, with it being so close to my heart,” Carter told Page Six in 2018 as she prepared to run in the marathon.

During her training she also revealed, “I usually pick my long runs when sports are on the TV, so I’ll watch a football game, a baseball game or a basketball game while I’m running, and I find that very motivating.”
