College football players from Texas, Alabama and Boise State have all participated in the new celebration trend. They pretend to smell the space between the genitals and the anus, known formally as the perineum, and act like it made them pass out.
Where did it come from? Nobody seems to know the exact origin…
This unusual college football trend started in Tennessee in Week 3. It has since made its way to Mississippi and to Idaho!
Where did this new college football celebration begin?
Running back Raleek Brown scored a touchdown during the fourth quarter of Texas’ win over Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 26. It (and the extra point) gave the Longhorns a 10-point lead over the Volunteers. They went on to win 20-17.
Most of the conversation focused on defensive end Colin Simmons, who pretended to urinate on the opposing quarterback after a big sack for loss during the second quarter. He was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.
Brown was not flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct after his touchdown later in the game. The fifth-year running back placed his hand between his legs, swiped up, held the hand in front of his face, took a deep breath in, and pretended to pass out.
This is crazier than the potty break. 😭 https://t.co/sm8LggwIZu

The broadcast crew did not pick up on the action. Nor did the officials. A video of Brown went viral on social media but that was it. Texas did not get penalized for his celebration.
Keelon Russell also pretended to smell his perineum.
Perhaps I am blissfully unaware of a trend on TikTok that inspired Brown to sniff between his legs and pretend pass out. I don’t think so. I feel like I would’ve seen it by now. As far as I can tell, Brown went rogue.
He also started a trend…
Alabama quarterback Keelon Russell scored a touchdown during the first half against Mississippi State on Saturday. The 19-year-old true sophomore reached his hand between his legs, pretended to swipe the area between his genitals and anus, held his hand to his face and pretended to pass out. Unlike Brown, he did not go to the ground.
I’ve seen this celebration before… https://t.co/qy2YIZmSmg

The perineum is defined as the “surface area and soft-tissue region located at the bottom of the pelvis.” Most people probably know it by the five-letter slang term that starts with a T and ends with a T… T — A — I — N — T.
Brown was the first to smell it during a college football game. Russell was the second. Dylan Riley was the third. Boise State’s wide receiver did the same celebration as Texas’ running back and Alabama’s quarterback during a win over Utah State.
DYLAN RILEY AGAIN 🤯 https://t.co/ECH9GLhJVh

Where did this bizarre college football celebration trend come from? Nobody knows but it’s provocative!
