Deion Sanders brought some speed to Boulder in this year’s recruiting class. That athleticism was on full display during this week’s preseason sessions.

The Colorado football team participated in NFL Combine style training as they ran 40s, recorded verticals, and much more. Luckily for us, it was all caught on camera.

Coach Prime’s son, Deion Sanders Jr., runs the social media department for the football team. He posted a video of the offseason training to his YouTube page.

While we were able to see guys like starting quarterback Shedeur Sanders and former No. 1 overall recruit Travis Hunter on the field, it was a pair of newcomers who stole the show.

Four-star running back Dylan Edwards and transfer wide receiver Jimmy Horn, Jr. were both a part of the 2023 cycle. Edwards was considered one of the top high school prospects at his position while Horn racked up over 1,000 yards from scrimmage in two seasons at USF.

Each posted blazing times of 4.38 in their 40-yard dashes. You can see Edwards’ time around the 6:20 mark of the YouTube clip. Horn runs at the 7:15 point.

While the numbers are unofficial, they’re still quite impressive.

“We got the two fastest players in the country on one team.” -Dylan Edwards

Those times are faster than a number of notable performances seen at this week’s NFL Combine, and they’ve already caused a huge reaction from Colorado football supporters.

One fan wrote, “Speed kills,” in response to seeing the video clip. Another commented, “Whole lot of speed on the squad.”

The Buffaloes are hoping that speed translates into wins on the field. Despite struggling to a 1-11 season last year, the outlook of the Colorado football program is one of positivity.

Most of that has to do with the culture and excitement that Deion Sanders has brought to Boulder. That latest recruiting class didn’t hurt either.

The anticipation for the upcoming season has translated into record setting ticket sales at the box office. The Buffaloes are also already close to selling out the Spring Game, which is slated for April.

This latest video, which highlights the talent on campus, is only growing that anticipation more.
