One Colorado football player was videotaped visibly frustrated after the team’s loss to Oregon on Saturday. While walking off the field after that defeat, the player snatched a bandana off the head of a fan in the crowd.

The act immediately went viral, leading to a public apology.

The Buffs were beaten soundly by the Ducks on Saturday, 42-6. Oregon jumped out to a 35-0 first half lead before letting off the gas a bit in the second half of action.

It was Colorado’s first loss of the season, and it seems not everyone around the program took it well. Linebacker Brendan Gant was involved in an incident with fans as he walked towards the team locker room after the game.

The defender was filmed jumping up and snatching a fan’s bandana off his head as he made his way off the field.

The clip quickly went viral giving college football followers a chance to bash the culture inside the Colorado locker room.

“Classy move,” one fan commented on the post.

“He should be suspended,” another person wrote. “The wheels are starting to fall off!”

That might be a bit of a stretch, but it’s not the first time we’ve seen a Buffaloes player react negatively during a frustrating situation. Just last week, despite eventually winning the game, quarterback Shedeur Sanders was seen attempting to poke the eyes of a Colorado State defender on the field.

That instance came in a chippy contest that also saw Travis Hunter forced out of action following a cheap shot by an opposing player.

Gant apologized this week for swiping the fan’s bandana, saying, “Yesterday after the game I made a wrong decision toward a fan outta frustration cause of a fan just being a fan,” in a post on social media.

“To that fanbase and more specifically that individual, I know better and to myself that was unacceptable and could have been avoided. I do apologize because that is not me, my character or who I strive to be and that is definitely not Colorado football.”

Colorado will try to clean up the on and off-field issues before a matchup against USC this weekend.
