Everything is going downhill for the Washington Commanders. They’re currently in the middle of a week from hell, as the drama continues to mount up. Now, after having a terrible game against the Tennessee Titans, William Jackson III is seeking a trade in the middle of Dan Snyder’s meltdown.

Commanders CB William Jackson III Seeks Trade Amid Dan Snyder Debacle

According to Ian Rapoport, Mike Garafolo, and Tom Pelissero, the Commanders cornerback has asked to be traded from the organization. This is just perfect timing, as the franchise hit the news cycle on Thursday after Dan Snyder shared some wild comments.

To be fair, a departing between Jackson and the Commanders makes sense. Ron Rivera benched him in their game against the Titans and now the star cornerback isn’t going to play in the Thursday night game against the Chicago Bears. However, Rivera certainly had his reasoning, as William Jackson III was getting torched all season long, per Dov Kleiman.

At the end of the day though, this is another horrible look for Washington. The front office gave Jackson a hefty $42 million deal back in 2021. Now, just a year later, the Commanders’ cornerback is asking for a trade. Talk about a swing and a miss.

It’s unclear if a trade will come to fruition or not. It’s still early, as the request was just made on Thursday. Even so, Jackson’s stat line is nothing to gloat about while his contract is rather high. Other teams may consider different options, as William Jackson III hasn’t quite lived up to his current contract.

Regardless, keep an eye out for any rumors or updates regarding the Commanders’ cornerback. The trade deadline is right around the corner and a playoff contender with some cap space could show interest in the coming weeks.
