Conor McGregor is currently lined up to fight Michael Chandler in the UFC, however, a date is not set just yet.

The former double champion still needs to successfully clear six months of clean testing before he can fight. So, we’ll see how this upcoming bout plays out.

In the meantime, McGregor is not shy about discussing possible bouts, or even attending fun events.

However, he turned some heads recently after talking about the Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship during an interview with Ariel Helwani.

As it turns out, Conor McGregor is open to the idea of potentially participating in the BFKC. He believes it’s a style of fighting that is never boring. For that reason, he claims it could be a fun way to keep fighting outside of the UFC.

Here is his full statement, per MMA Fighting.

I mean, he does have a point. The bare knuckle inflicts more damage. Just ask Luke Rockhold who had his tooth knocked out during his fight against Mike Perry.

Additionally, Conor McGregor may have an advantage in the BFKC. Mainly due to the fact he can just focus on boxing, which is a strength of his.

This actually could turn into a reality though. McGregor has just two more fights left on his contract with the UFC. After those bouts, the former champion will become a free agent.

At that point, he’ll have plenty of options on the table to possibly continue his fight career.

We’ll see how it all plays out though. He may opt to remain with the UFC, or he could even retire. On the other hand, you have to imagine the BKFC is going to recruit Conor McGregor as much as possible once he fulfills his current contract.

At the very least, he seems interested in the BKFC, and that could be enough for the organization to possibly sign him once he’s a free agent.
