On the morning of August 27, one day after the much anticipated boxing match at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Conor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather will wake up on a bed of money. Mayweather is expected to make at least $100 million but his take could inflate to four times that much if the event hits all of its monetary metrics, Keith Idec of Boxing Scene reports. McGregor will make at least $75 million, which is five times as much as he’s made from any UFC event.

The fight will likely shatter pay-per-view records, certainly the middleweight world championship between Canelo Alvarez and ‘GGG’ Gennady Golovkin (two professional boxers) on September 16. It has all the makings to be an underwhelming fight, but millions will tune in to hope for something epic, just as I went to see Dumb and Dumber To in theaters, knowing the outcome beforehand but refusing to admit it to myself.

In the wake of Floyd Mayweather posting an astonishing training video, Conor McGregor has hit back with one of his own. Hit back ever so softly.

I’m no boxing expert and I know McGregor is hitting the heavy bag rather than the speed bag, but I’m throwing the $18.29 left in my bank account on the dude whose never lost a professional boxing match in his entire damn life.

God I want this to be a good fight so bad. Show me something McGregor!

The anti-drug people gave him a $50 savings bond for his brave contribution to crime-fighting, and upon the bond’s maturity 10 years later, he used it to buy his very first bag of marijuana.
