You have to be slightly unhinged to willingly get into a ring and face off against someone whose primary goal is to punch you in the face as many times as possible so it takes a special person to become an MMA fighter. While some people manage to store up their rage for inside the Octagon, others have a bit more trouble controlling their emotions outside of it— including Conor McGregor.

Back in April, McGregor was backstage at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn when he decided it would be a good idea to throw a dolly through the window of a bus filled with UFC fighters. It reeked of a WWE-inspired publicity stunt at first, but Dana White immediately squashed those rumors and one fighter shared a photo of an eye injury that made it clear the rampage was very real.

McGregor was hit with criminal charges following the freakout which led fans to speculate about his future in the UFC and wondering if the Irishman would even be allowed back into the country after the incident. However, the fighter managed to strike a deal with prosecutors and agreed to plead guilty in exchange for what appears to be an incredibly lenient punishment when you consider the circumstances.

Taking into account the tens of millions of dollars he made by getting beat up by Floyd Mayweather I doubt he’ll have to reach too far into his pockets to pay for the damages. However, I can’t wait to see what form of community service McGregor will choose to meet the conditions of his sentence.

If you ask me, I think volunteering at some blood drives would be especially poetic.
