Love made a surprise appearance at the Cowboys-49ers game at Levi’s Stadium last Sunday night.

Right after the final whistle blew in what many would agree was one of the most dismal one-sided affair in recent Sunday Night Football, an unlikely proposal took place.

Now, proposing at a sporting event might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but it happened nonetheless.

A devoted 49ers fan decided to seize the moment, dropping to one knee following his team’s impressive 42-10 victory. His significant other, a loyal Cowboys fan, found herself at the center of attention when he popped the big question.

Spoiler alert: she said yes! Love conquers all, even rivalries on the football field.

The female fan was crying when he proposed but was it tears of joy from the proposal or was it sad tears from before the proposal because her team lost by 32 points?

The NBC broadcasting duo of Cris Collinsworth and Mike Tirico couldn’t resist having a bit of fun with this unexpected turn of events before wrapping up their coverage.

Collinsworth quipped, “Would he have done it if the Cowboys had won? I don’t think so. I think he’s holding the ring. You can’t start a marriage like that, with her having the upper hand. But 49ers win, ‘Here you go, let’s get married.'” Leave it to Collinsworth to break down a proposal in his own unique way.

So, congratulations to the happy couple! It seems like this unusual proposal was just the distraction a Cowboys fan needed to forget about the less-than-stellar performance from her team.

Love truly knows no bounds, even in the world of sports rivalries.
