Dabo Swinney is melting down, again. The 53-year-old head college football coach at Clemson is very angry for a multitude of reasons, including his team’s 4-4 record, but his current focus is a young kid that set him off on Monday night.

He went full scorched earth on a young fan that called in to his weekly radio show to question whether his $10.75 million salary is warranted amid the struggles. Swinney called him a “smart a– kid” and proceeded to rant for about six minutes.

As an outsider, the angry tirade was absolutely hilarious. To make it even funnier, Dabo Swinney was equally as angry on Tuesday as he was during the radio show — if not even more so.

Dabo Swinney’s melt down continued!

The Tigers had not lost four or more games in a single season since Swinney’s third year, 2011. They lost their fourth game of the 2023 season to North Carolina State on Saturday.

Fans are frustrated by the four losses. Swinney doesn’t seem to grasp that sentiment.

It’s gotten to a point here where even when you win, people are miserable.

Winning is not the reason that people are miserable this year. That won’t be enough to change the head coach’s mind!

Some people say I’m stubborn but I say I’m convicted in my beliefs. And there aren’t enough people convicted in their beliefs.

Speaking of beliefs, Swinney is a proud Christian man. He built the Tigers program on “God’s name, image and likeness.”

Thus, when speaking to the radio call on Monday night, Swinney referenced the bible. He compared the frustrated fan’s comments to the Old Testament, which includes flood, genocide, war, children-murdering bears, and countless other horrors.

I had some idiot go Old Testament on me and he got an Old Testament response.

Seems like a stretch.

And Swinney was not done there! His soapbox diatribe continued.

I’ve got a long way to go in this profession. If they want me back here, I’m going to fight like crap to get this back to the standard. But I’m not going to let anything steal my joy.

That was not all. He also was very upset about “the clickbait society we live in now” and said that the “adults have left the building in this country.”

Meanwhile, Clemson will host No. 12 Notre Dame this weekend and still has games against Georgia Tech, North Carolina and South Carolina. Perhaps Swinney’s time would be better used elsewhere.
