Donte Whitner made waves this weekend due to negative comments about Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The former NFL defender flat out said, “Dak Prescott sucks,” after a blowout loss to the 49ers.

Dallas fans think they know why Whitner so bluntly criticized their team’s passer.

“Dak Prescott sucks. Period. They talk so much about Dak Prescott being a top tier QB, a franchise guy. I don’t see it,” he said in a postgame interview.

As a professional football player, Whitner suited up for four teams. He spent the majority of his time in Buffalo before playing three years in San Francisco, two years in Cleveland, and his last season in Washington.

A play from that final campaign is now going viral.

During Prescott’s rookie season in 2016, Dallas and Washington faced off in an NFC East rivalry. A clip has now resurfaced showing the quarterback sending the defender to the ground with a vicious stiff arm.

Cowboys fans have come out in droves to clown Whitner while believing the embarrassing stiff arm gave him extra incentive to go after Dak.

It seems a bit far-fetched to think he’s been holding onto this grudge for eight years, but Dallas supporters are looking for any reason behind the negative comments, outside of their quarterback’s poor play, that is.

Sunday’s performance against San Francisco was Prescott’s second sub-200-yard outing. His three interceptions were a season high.

On the year, the signal caller is averaging 212 yards per game with five touchdowns and four picks. Dallas will take on the Chargers next Monday night in hopes of moving to 4-2 on the year.
