Dak Prescott doesn’t believe the Cowboys’ loss to the winless Tampa Bay Bucs was “embarrassing.”
On Thursday Night Football, the Cowboys, 8.5-point favorites, lost at home to the 0-4 Tampa Bay Bucs, who were starting their backup QB due to Baker Mayfield’s injury.
After the game, a Dallas stadium employee could be heard yelling ’embarrassing” while Prescott walked to the locker room. Prescott looked back to see who said it, and didn’t seem happy about it.
An employee inside AT&T Stadium said “embarrassing,” after that Cowboys loss.

Cowboys QB Dak Prescott got cat-called by someone in the tunnel. Someone called out “embarrassing!” Prescott heard it, said something back, and then pointed the person out to a Cowboys employee. https://t.co/5qImPdjT1s

During the postgame press conference, Prescott was asked if he believed the loss was “embarrassing.”
“To use the word embarrassing is tough. I feel like I’m discrediting the NFL if I use that, and, and particularly the Tampa Bay Bucs and a great Todd Bowles coach and defensive coach team. Guy’s been a winning coach for a long time, and whether he’s been a head coach or defensive coordinator, that’s the plan. And what they did tonight is the reason for that.”
“And so to say embarrassing, I think I’d be discrediting them. And but we were definitely supposed to win this game. This is a game, you know, that was a game we’re supposed to have on paper, or whichever way you want to look at it. And I think Shotty said it best in the locker room: in this league, you’ve got to win the games you’re supposed to win. And when a winless team comes into your home stadium, On a Thursday night primetime game, yeah, we’re supposed to win that. And so it sucks and, and right up there close to embarrassing, but I don’t know if I would say that.”
Update: Prescot spoke about his viral moment with the stadium employee.
“When he said it, I just happened to look at him at that point and he looked away, and then I turned my head back, and he said something else. That’s the part, just as a man of a person, feel free to speak your mind. Just speak it. Don’t cower away from the reaction you’re going to get.”
