Bills defensive back Damar Hamlin recorded an interception at training camp on Tuesday, and it’s lifted everyone’s spirits as we trek through the NFL offseason. The pick was a re-introduction to the league of sorts.

As many recall, the safety was involved in a scary on-field incident that left him motionless in a game against the Bengals last year. Hamlin collapsed on the field after a tackle and had to be treated for more than 10 minutes by medical staff.

After being transported from the stadium, he was taken to the hospital where he stayed for the next week. He’s now miraculously made a full recovery and is somehow suiting up for the Bills just eight months later.

Hamlin had his first padded practice this week, though he admitted to being nervous about the return to the field.

“In football, you can’t hit that field with hesitation,” the Buffalo safety said. “You’re putting yourself in more danger by doing that. I made the choice to play. I’m processing a thousand emotions. I’m not afraid to say that it crossed my mind of being a little scared here and there.”

A more than reasonable response for a player that’s been through what Hamlin has.

On Tuesday, he emphasized his return to the playing field by picking off quarterback Matt Barkley. Damar Hamlin’s interception instantly made positive waves on social media.

Reactions flooded NFL Twitter as fans and media watched the pick.

Bills’ safety Damar Hamlin is back at practice …. and back to intercepting passes,” wrote NFL insider Adam Schefter.

Damar Hamlin’s BACK!” said Jordan Schultz.

Hamlin started 13 games for the Bills in 2022, making 91 tackles and forcing a fumble from his safety position. The defender from Pitt is still looking for his first NFL interception.

Hopefully, it comes this year. File this under things you love to see.
