The Portland Trail Blazers started off the season to a hot start, but have cooled down since then. Even so, superstar Damian Lillard remains one of the best point guards in the league.

He’s been dominant throughout his entire career, as he’s played an integral role in keeping Portland competitive. It’s paying off now, as Lillard breaks a major franchise record.

According to Aaron J. Fentress, the Trail Blazers’ point guard broke the all-time scoring record in franchise history. On Monday night after recording his 21st point of the game against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Damian Lillard surpassed Clyde Drexler in most points ever in franchise history.

Too bad the record wasn’t broken at a home game, as Trail Blazer fans likely would have gone nuts. Regardless, Thunder fans came through and gave Damian Lillard a standing ovation anyway. It’s a cool moment, as anyone who enjoys the game of basketball just appreciates greatness when they see it.

So now, Damian Lillard arguably becomes the greatest Trail Blazer ever. If he can somehow find a way to win a ring, then he’ll go down as an absolute legend in the city of Portland. We’ll see if he can finally lead his team to the promise land, as there is still plenty of time left this season.
