So far this offseason, the Portland Trail Blazers haven’t been able to find themselves a star to play alongside Damian Lillard that could give the star point guard a chance to win a ring with the franchise who drafted him.

There had been talks for a while about them trading the 3rd pick in this year’s draft to get that star, but nothing ever came of it.

After drafting Scoot Henderson with that pick, they’ll now have to turn to free agency to try and find the piece they need to contend after struggling for the past couple of seasons.

While the Blazers wait for free agency to officially begin later this week, it seems Lillard has already begun to take this matter into his own hands.

According to Rip City Radio’s Dwight Jaynes, Lillard rented out a restaurant last night for a meeting with Draymond Green.

Green is one of the more interesting free agents that is currently on the market and could help the Blazers in one are where they badly need it.

Green is a former Defensive Player of the Year that would easily fit into the Blazers’ starting lineup.

Jusuf Nurkic, Jerami Grant, Lillard, and Anfernee Simons could pick up the scoring slack and Green’s facilitating ability would likely make that even easier for them.

Then they’d have Shaedon Sharpe, Henderson, and potentially Cam Reddish coming off the bench to give the team some interesting depth options.

The Portland Trail Blazers need to make something big happen this offseason to keep Damian Lillard happy and Draymond Green could be the player they’re looking for.
